Emmanuel Afotey, Registered Manager

My journey in healthcare started 21 years ago as a carer. My passion for the job grows each day when I feel the satisfaction of knowing that I have transformed lives and put a smile on the faces of my clients and their loved ones.

I gained interest in building up a career in the health and social care industry and this was achieved after professionally developing myself through work practices and numerous qualifications in Health and Social Care.

I worked up from my humble beginning as a carer through to team leader then field care supervisor, Coordinator, Deputy Care Manager, HR and training manager and now operations manager.

I have had the opportunity to work with all client groups but specialised in elderly care and mental health care.

The journey has been turbulent but I can say, it is very rewarding.

Sarah Senaya-Awumey, Deputy Manager

I joined UK Star Care in August 2020 and my journey has been nothing short of interesting experiences and learning curves. I acknowledge that people are our most prized assets as is the case with UK Star Care. As part of my job, I ensure that the work environment is a happy and productive one.

Adhering to best practices, I ensure that I deliver my responsibilities which include overseeing day-to-day staff welfare, finance planning, and seeing to it that UK Star Care is run in the most efficient and effective manner are delivered smoothly and with precision.

I have climbed my way up to my current role and I am most pleased with all the opportunities this company has offered me.

Lela Lomsadze, Financial Manager and HR

My values in life are trustworthiness as it helps to earn the trust of our wonderful clients and colleagues, virtue enables me to see the good in everyone, accountability makes me reflect on my practice, accept errors and learn from them, and kindness makes me go above, and beyond in my day-to-day work in achieving our organizational goals and values. I love to sing, play the piano, guitar, and love to make people laugh. My correspondence with clients, their families and the care team has earned us high customer satisfaction and high carer career satisfaction.

As Care coordinator, I believe that these qualities are necessary when it comes liaising between the service users, stakeholders, and the company. I have learned how to multi-task and exhibit compassion in dealing with care workers and service users as well.

I always look forward to starting a new day because I know it is another opportunity to make a positive contribution to the growth of UK Star Care.

I love this journey I am on with this company.

Joining UK Star Care has given me the opportunity to work with Service Users who have diverse needs. This experience has really humbled me and given me new purpose to life. Every day, when I go to bed, I sleep knowing that I was of good purpose to someone that needed my help.

I particularly get excited at every training because it means I am going to offer an even better service to my service users.

Nadia Yeboah, Senior Care Worker

Alice, Clinical Lead

Naa Ayeley M-K, Senior Care Worker

My journey at UK Star Care began a year after serving as a Care Assistant in various Care homes in Birmingham.

Domiciliary care was totally new to me and I must say it has been a wonderful journey of new experiences I would not trade for anything.

I am particularly enthused by the stories and lessons I have gathered from serving my service users. Every evening, I go to bed smiling even though exhausted knowing I have been of good help to someone somewhere.

I am honoured to be a part of this team.
